The Denali Area
Denali provides an exciting environment for those who enjoy making new friends and exploring nature. Thousands of seasonal workers come each summer and form a community that is loaded with social opportunities. There are plenty of places to eat, hang out, and go on exciting adventures.
Healy
Healy is a small town about 15 minutes north of Denali National Park. This is where our employee housing is located along with many others. Residents can easily walk to most of the businesses in town. They can also coordinate a ride with a shuttle driver. The closest options are shown below with their distance from our employee housing.
Denali Park Business District
The Denali Park business district consists of several hotels, restaurants, stores, galleries, and tour operators including our three stores. It is located next to the national park entrance. Many of the tour companies offer discounted tickets for local employees. Click the pin on the map to explore the local businesses using Google Maps.
Denali National Park
Denali National Park contains 6,000,000 acres of protected wilderness with mountain vistas, wildlife, and North America’s highest peak. Visitors can: explore miles of hiking trails, volunteer to walk sled dogs, pick wild berries, stay overnight in campgrounds, backpack into the wilderness, photograph landscapes and wildlife, and bike the park road. It’s a nature lovers paradise.
Medical
Limited medical services are available in the Denali area. Applicants who require ongoing medical treatment should contact the local clinics shown below to see if they offer the required services. There is a local ambulance for emergency transportation to the nearest hospital in Fairbanks.
Getting around
Our Shuttle
All employees can ride the company shuttle. This shuttle runs between housing and Denali Park business district three to four times per day. Coordinate with the shuttle driver for drop off or pick up anywhere between the Denali National Park bus depot and Healy.
Park Shuttle
Denali National Park offers free shuttles from the bus depot up to 15 miles into the national park. Paid tickets are also available up to 40 miles into the national park. Details and schedules are available here.
Traveling Outside the Denali Area
Taking a trip outside the Denali area will likely require an overnight stay. You can use the Alaska Railroad or the Yukon Trails Shuttle to reach Fairbanks, Talkeetna, Anchorage, and Seward. Contact management for a 50% discount on Alaska Railroad tickets. There are also a few rental cars available in the area from Turo.
